Welcome to Mrs. Lilly's Reading Class.
It is 1 day till Christmas Vacation. We are currently taking our Reading 6 Weeks test.
I cannot stress enough how important it is for YOUR CHILD to be reading their library books each evening for a minimum of 10 minutes a night. Either have them read out loud as you are cooking dinner, riding in the car, or sitting around asking them about their day. Then ask them a few questions about what they just read to you to help check to see if they understood what they read. If you seem interested in them reading, I guarantee you they will become interested in reading. In the end, their reading skills will improve.
We will have a Reward Skating Trip sometime in May for all the students that have a total of 50 AR points. I am sure you would want your student to go and enjoy a day of fun at the Brenham skating rink. Encourage your child to not only meet their AR goal each 6 weeks of reading 2 chapter books on their level and passing the 2 AR test that go with them, but encourage them to work towards earning the 50 points overall to go on the REWARD TRIP.
Your students success is both yours and mine TOP PRIORITY and reading each evening is one way for them to become successful.

Welcome to Pre-AP Math.
We are about to start our 2nd Semester in 7th Grade Pre-AP math.
This semester we will move in to much more pre-algebra types of math. We have started solving one step equations. When we return from our Christmas Holiday we will begin solving two step equations and then multi-step equations. It is extremely important for your student to be in class everyday. Everything we do this semester is building blocks to and essential for success in Algebra next year. Please encourage your student to: be on time to class, pay attention, ask questions when needed, complete ALL homework assignments, and be considerate to their fellow classmates by paying attention in class and not talking or playing around.
Your students success is mine and your TOP PRIORITY!
